Rules

These pages will lead you through the basics but you need to be aware that there are already two codes developing:-

·	The Mornington Crescent and

·	The Bayswater rules.

As in Rugby, with League and Union, and other sports with two codes there is debate and division over rules and etiquette. I was sitting in All Bar One in Leicester Square (an establishment well frequented by Thongees and Thongers of both codes) last week and was asked to adjudicate on whether a certain thong was “inplay”.

However there are common rules to both codes and in these pages we will highlight the differences between them.

Remember the 3 golden rules:-

1	Players must never offend or embarrass the thong wearer (the thongee) as without them the game is always over.

2	All players must protect the identity of the thongees at all times.

3	No player must ever approach or handle a thongee.

1	We are the world wide governing body for the international game of Thong Snooker.

2	Anyone contravening these rules will have their playing license revoked, will be ineligible to play for ever and will be excommunicated from the Thonger community.

3	The game is open to both lads and ladettes.

4	A player is called a Thonger

5	A wearer of a observed thong is the Thongee

6	There can be any number of Thongers in a game.

7	There is no rule 7

8	The Thongers may be male or female

9	The Thongees may be female or male

10	Games can played by single sex thongers or they can be mixed sex thongers.

11	Play is in either of 2 states:-

· Inhand - the scoring mode

· Outhand - when your opponent is inhand and you can not score - but observing can be fun.

12	The play moves between the players and they become inhand in turn.

13	A Thonger becomes Outhand when a white is confirmed. This will lead to loss of all score for that Inhand if you are playing Bayswater but you retain the score in Mornington Crescent.

14	A score may only be claimed if the thong is inplay which invariably means a rear view.

15	No score may be claimed if the thong is outplay where the sighting is inconclusive which usually means a front view. The front view of thongs and briefs are very similar and is usually not counted - but is still rewarding in other ways

16	A score can only be added to the thongers score if it is a confirmed sighting.

17	A sighting can only be confirmed by another thonger in the game who is outhand or a non-playing but registered thonger
